The process
How it works, start to finish
No account, no subscription, no sales call. Here is every step, including the parts most editing services do not describe.
You get a price
Choose the service, enter your word count and currency, and pick a return time. The quote engine shows every option at once — five return times, one editor or two — so you can trade speed against cost yourself instead of asking us for a quote and waiting.
Nothing is charged at this stage and no account is created.
You send the document
Upload a Word, LaTeX or PDF file over an encrypted connection. Tell us your field, your style guide, your variety of English and anything the editor should know: a target journal, a word limit, a section not to touch, terminology you want preserved.
If you would rather not upload before you have heard from us, send the request without the file and we will reply with a secure upload link.
We check and confirm
A coordinator opens the file, verifies the word count and confirms we have an editor in your field who is free for your deadline. If the count differs from your estimate, or if we cannot match your subject properly, we tell you before you pay — and you can walk away.
You receive a confirmation with your order reference and a link to your own payment page, carrying the details for the method you chose. Your editor's initials and the exact delivery time in your time zone follow.
Your editor works
One editor proofreads and edits the whole document, tracking every change and leaving a comment wherever meaning is ambiguous rather than guessing. On the advanced service a second senior editor then reads the file again in full, including the first editor's changes.
Your file is open to the assigned editor only. Nothing is pasted into public AI tools at any stage.
Delivery
Three things arrive by your deadline: a clean copy with all changes applied, a tracked copy so you can review and reject anything, and a short report on the recurring issues, the style decisions taken and any queries that need your answer.
Delivery is by email, or by a download link for files over 20 MB.
Revisions
For 14 days you can send the document back with questions or ask for anything to be reconsidered, at no cost. The same editor handles it, so you are not re-explaining your project to a stranger.
If standards have genuinely slipped, a second senior editor re-edits the document from scratch. See the quality guarantee.
Deletion
Your source file, the edited versions and the derived files are deleted on a fixed schedule after delivery — 30 days by default, or immediately on request once you confirm you have everything.
Order records without document content are kept for accounting. Details on the confidentiality page.
What arrives in your inbox
Clean copy
All changes applied, formatting intact, ready to submit or keep working in.
Tracked copy
Every edit visible, with comments carrying the editor's queries, so you stay in control of your own text.
Editor's report
Recurring issues, style decisions, unresolved queries and what to watch for in your next draft.
How we match your editor
Subject matters more than most services admit. An editor who does not know your field will correct grammar correctly and change your terminology wrongly, and you will spend an evening putting it back.
When you enter your field on the order form we match against the editor's own discipline and the documents they have worked on. If we do not have a good match for your subject, we say so before you pay rather than assigning someone approximate and hoping.
How editors are recruited and testedWhat we need from you
- The file you actually want edited, not an older draft
- Your style guide, or a link to the journal's guidelines
- Your variety of English, if you have a preference
- Anything that must not be changed
- Your real deadline, if it is earlier than the return time you booked
Five minutes spent here saves a round of revisions later.
